Albert Lee Downing

Dr. Albert L. Downing was born in Plymouth, North Carolina. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Roanoke Bible College, Elizabeth City, NC and hold the distinction of being first African American to graduate from the College, (presently named Mid Atlantic Christian University). He received a Master of Divinity in Bible Christian Education from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, Wake Forest, NC and a Doctorate Degree in Pastoral Counseling from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, (Charlotte Campus) Charlotte, NC.

Dr. Downing served in the military for twenty-four years. He served three year as an enlisted Soldier in the Army, three years as a Navy Chaplain and eighteen years as an Army Chaplain. Dr. Downing served as a Brigade Chaplain in Iraq for fourteen months where he was responsible for all religious services covering an area about the size of Switzerland. He was awarded the Bronze Star Medal and he retired at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel Dr. Downing is the Founder and Senior Pastor of Living Faith Christian Center with partnership ministries in the Philippines, Haiti, Australia and Fiji. Living Faith Christian Center is a progressive, rapidly growing, non-denominational ministry that has steadily grown from since its inception in October 2, 2016. He has been preaching and teaching the Word of God since age 18. 

Under his leadership and directions L.F.C.C. has sponsored or assisted with providing food to the homeless, gifts and toys for kids, clothes and food give-away to the community, Evangelism and Veterans Outreach Programs. Dr. Downing has also initiated mission efforts and outreach ministries efforts in Durban, South Africa. He has also started the Living Faith School of Theology and is an endorsing agent for Military Chaplaincy.
